Sells and Losses...

Talk about trades going wrong! My last few trades have totally back fired on me and left me with some losses. These are my biggest misses. Thankfully, the positions were small. But despite this, I still felt a bit uneasy seeing ASTM and STEM gap down over 30 percent. I sold STEM for a -70% loss. Yes, this was a nasty and deceitful hit. I am still holding onto ASTM. I believe that ASTM can slowly climb back up to its old highs. GERN and KOOL were also hurried and clumsy trades as well. GERN resulted in a -20% loss. KOOL left me with a not so cool -8% loss.

Jumped Back In...

Regretting my ill-timed sale of ASTM and STEM, I rebought a small position in each.

ASTM in at 0.67

STEM in at 2.20-2.21

At first I felt that my actions may have been a bit rash. So far, so good. I will keep a close eye on both of them. They will continue to show strength for the rest of the week if they close near the top of their range.

Taking Some Profits....

I took advantage of the morning gap up and decided to sell ASTM and STEM. While I still like these stocks, I feel as if they need a bit more time to work on their chart/base before they have enough fuel to head higher. I may also consider re-buying them if I see some sort of pivot point forming on their chart. I do believe that these stocks will head higher by January of 2009 once Barack Obama begins his presidency. If he gives the nod for stem cell research, you can bet that these two stocks will hit dizzying heights.

ASTM: Out at 0.63 Gain= 12.5%

STEM: Out at 2.12 Gain= 9.84%

Update: Of course, I sell both stocks a bit too soon.
