  1. There goes HPJ. I no longer feel bad about buying it at 3.20...

  2. Yeah; definitely! I'm glad to see it break that 3.75. Not a bad trading week.

    Take care,
    Chad.

  3. What a gorgeous close for HPJ today!! Delightful... :)

  4. yeah I know. There was a mad dash of buying during the last few minutes of trading that propped it up quite a bit. It will be interesting to see if it can continue its momentum into next week.

  5. My thoughts too. If it opens below the close and keeps trading up on Tuesday, I'll be in heaven ;)

  6. If it dips, I may add more to the position. HPJ has the possibility to make a strong run. It is in a (currently)strong and in favor sector and it is a Chinese stock. In addition, it has been experiencing heavy accumulation. Another plus is that the float on it is rather small (with only 13 M shares outstanding, there aren't more than 5 M shares on the open market).

  7. Damn! I thought today was a market holiday. Glad I didn't sleep in!

  8. well at least you woke up with the pleasant surprise seeing ACLS up and HPJ retaining most of its move...

  9. Yeah, I'm glad to see ACLS up. I like ACLS's trend a lot... just real steady, small, gains bringing in huge returns for anyone who's been in them the last three months. If they keep this up, I'll let ACLS ride for a while!

  10. Nick,
What's your take on HPJ today, I'm about to dump it.

  11. Chad,

I may take some profits off the table by the EOD. I am waiting to see if it closes by the HOD. If it does, I will continue holding it. But even if do take some profits, I am not selling the entire position as I believe that HPJ has more room to run. THe stock is under heavy accumulation, it is in a hot sector that is gaining strength and admiration in the media and the stock has just recently bottomed. There are two scenarios to the stock. It may have an immediate or run away break out where the stock does not sit around and linger while building a base (i.e. CAR, DTG and others) or the stock will retract and build a base (which may last for weeks or months), before attempting to break out on a catalyst. At this point, it is too early to tell. But...if selling does not hit it, it may very well have a run away breakout and not pause for base building (based on the low float, industry strength, etc.). Just some thoughts. But seriously, a little profit taking doesnt hurt as it is an insurance policy.

  12. Thanks! Just trying to re-affirm some thoughts. I forgot about your low-float point; that's a big one. I see the volume, now, that I wanted to see today and feel more comfortable with its open.

    Anything else on your radar?

    Take care,
    Chad.

*...I'm sending you a BIG F*ing Christmas card this year! ;)

  13. Chad,

I like PMI (low risk entry at this point), ZIOP (high quality bio-tech_. These are just a few that come to mind.

  14. INHX is another "high quality" bio-tech play with large upside potential. It has strong accumulation and is waiting to breakout above its base once a catalyst hits the news wires...

  15. PMI does look like it's trying to pivot. I'm going to watch it tomorrow and the next; thanks. ZIOP looks nice too, it just keeps hitting selling pressure in the low 3s. INHX is harder for me to read. Definitely interested in ZIOP if it can breakout...

    Take care,
    Chad.

  16. There are definitely more that I like, I just haven't had the chance to really post them. So far, the market has been bouncing upwards from every dip (dips are being bought). It will be interesting to see where the market will be by the end of October...

AS of now, I am keep a close eye on all my positions, utilizing stops in some and watching support/resistance levels. The last thing I want is to lose any of my profits and log in a loss for October...

BTW, sold half of my ACLS for a 27% gain. I will let the rest ride and may rebuild the position if I can get more on a dip. Still liking the stock, but rather be safe than sorry. Wanted to add more to HPJ, but my order never got filled. Might be able to catch another dip tomorrow before the stock attempt to breakout again.

  17. I'm was tempted on ACLS to take profits, but it's just trending so strong! I'm watching it close, and probably being greedy, but until I see it taper off on me, I'll keep my capital in the market. ...I'm dealing with significantly smaller positions than you though. I'd be running to the bank like a profit-takin' bandit if I was dealing with 5 or 6 digit positions! 60% returns are rare!

    ReplyDelete
  18. lol, 6 digit positions? In my dreams, maybe. I'm not at that point just yet...

ACLS did close rather strong and I may end up regretting my sell, but I still have the other half to ride out, If it dips close to 1.50 or below and pivots upwards, I may rebuy some shares to rebuild the position.

  19. Don't fret on my behalf! ;) I'm all about your own advice: There is NO harm in taking profits! The run on ACLS has been fantastic. I don't like banking on the double (and I'm certainly not holding on until it) but I could really see ACLS strong over the next month all the above 2.50.

...6 digit positions would be fantastic ;) I'd take 2% profits all day and call it a job!

    ReplyDelete
  20. lol, there goes ZIOP

    ReplyDelete
  21. ok, today should have been the day that I sold ACLS...gap up and severely over extended. Not a bad time to cash in some of the profit and let the rest ride...jmho

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wow! Missed ZIOP. That one took off today!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Took a position in INHX. It's trading shallow but looks like it's waiting for a breakout on catalyst, like you said. I missed the profit taking on ACLS, but I'm still not worried about it. I'm riding ACLS until it changes directions.

  24. I think that if ZIOP stays above 3.50, it may pop up higher tomorrow and hit 4.00 again...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Gaps like ZIOP's make me nervous. Any news, or is the price action ahead of the news?

    ReplyDelete
  26. up because of positive trial data

    ReplyDelete
  27. closed at 3.60, so it has a chance to make a decent pop tomorrow.

  28. I'll be watching it. I pulled up a chart on XRTX later in the day also; I wish I would have taken that position. Good entry point, like you said. I'll be watching it too, for when some capital becomes available.

    Take care,
    Chad.

  29. Definitely a good stock to keep an eye on. There are quite a few good ones to snatch up while they are still low value. I keep meaning to put up a list of the "must buy" stocks but I keep side tracked with all tons of stuff. I'll try to get it up on the blog as soon as I can...
