Oversold Bounce

Today's action is a perfect textbook example of an oversold bounce. There may be two outcomes. This may be a temporary one to two day bounce, or this may lead to a double bottom in the market. If this leads to a temporary bottom, we may a short term rally to the 50 day MA or possibly higher. I took advantage of the earlier dip in AIPC and grabbed some more shares in the low 30 range.

Liquidating Some Positions...

This market has been rough on some of my more speculative holdings. Some of the stocks that took some punishment include GERN and MAXY

GERN (-2.4%)

MAXY (+27% on my original positions) (-10.9% on my last add on position). Still holding onto some add-on positions

The Pay Off

Finally, my position in AIPC has begun to pay itself off. I have been looking at its chart for quite some time now and wondering if earnings would provide a catalyst for the next leg up. Judging by todays action, it looks so. I expect the company to continue to do well in the upcoming quarters. Today's price action should provide enough fuel for the stock to last until next quarter earnings.

I have been accumulating AIPC since December 2008 when I bought the first batch at 21 and change.

Top Industries

Most of todays top performers can be found in two top industries: Bio-med/pharma and Gold/Precious Metals. I expect this trend to continue next week as well, as it is showing tremendous momentum.

Bio-Techs: ANDS, ARIA, ASTM, CYPB, GERN, MAPP, MAXY, NCST, NURO, PSTI, ROSG, SIGA, STEM, THRX

Gold/Metals: AZK, CGR, DROOY, EGO, GFI, GSS, IAG, KGN, NAK, NSU, RIC, SMC, THM, UXG, WGW

Waiting It Out...

I've decided to sit on the sidelines for a little bit and wait for the trubulence to subside. This is not something new. I've had the same strategy for the past few weeks. This is why my posting has become less frequent as well. There aren't that many high quality stocks to buy. Even worse, there aren't any speculative stocks with strong technicals either. I will continue to monitor the market and will let you know if I find any interesting setups.
