What's Hot and what's Not...
Today is a pretty good day. The retreat in oil prices has definitely helped the market cool down as well as allow gas prices to also decline a bit. Stocks reacted favorably to this decline in oil and gas. As you probably know, the Dow closed at +141 points and the NASDAQ closed at + 25! I am also pleased to announce that some of the stocks that I have highlighted recently have also taken off, along with today's market.
NL Industries (NL) is up with a high of 15.00 and a close of 14.61
PETCO (PETC) has a high of 23.50 and closed at 23.38
Solexa Inc. (SLXA) had a 52wk high of 6.15 but profit taking has let slide to 6.00, which is not bad
Sterling Construction (STV) is going nuts!! It has reached a high of 28.25 and a current price of 27.93. It is up over 25% since the time I have mentioned it. I still hope this stock drops sometime soon so that I can create another buying opportunity. It's getting riskier to jump in at these prices as the stock is going up. There is no telling when those who have purchased at 12 and less will sell. Keep an eye on it and congratulations to who ever made a killing on it.
GoldField Corp. (GV) is up over 30% from the time I mentioned it (9/5). It hit 1.59 and it closed at 1.53.
Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) is also reacting favorably. It has reached 58.81 and it closed at 58.51. It is up to 59.00, AH
LSI Industries (LYTS) has hit 16.43 and it closed at 16.16. It has gone up +7%!
Simpson Manufacturing (SSD) and Florida Rock Industries (FRK) have also gone higher with FRK hitting 60.40 and closing at 60 even (+5%) and SSD hitting 39.47 and closing at 39.15 (+2%)
