Follow The Leaders: China Stocks, Solar Energy Plays and Shipping Companies and More
As this post's title suggests, the current markets leaders are clearly China Stocks (YGE, JRJC), Solar Stocks (FSLR, ASTI, LDK, JASO, etc), and Shipping Companies (EXM, DSX, DAC, etc). Of course, the Oil and Petroleum related stocks/companies (as well as those that perform engineering and field services for the industry) are holding their own with the price of oil at record levels. Some stocks in this sector include ARD, NOV, DWSN, and FTK.

Hi Nick,
What do you recommend to do with these stocks on the Monday?
Thanks,
Sean
Sean,
If the market shows strength and the stocks act postively, then buy them. JRJC and ASTI may be a little over extended. Other solar plays such as JASO, FSLR, YGE and TSL may be good buy candidates. Also, the ship stocks such as EXM< DAC and DSX are at good buy points. If the market does not show strength and shows weakness, then do not buy them. It all really depends how the market and the individual stocks act. Hope this helps.

Just a side note on "Shipping Companies". I had a friend work in the water transportation industry. He said June- September is when they experience "peak season" or greatest growth in the company. Importers need their merchandise before the holidays, so that why it gets busy during that time.
Fundamentally speaking, it may not be the best time to enter shipping companies. But technically speaking its a different story.
Btw, keep up the good work Nick.
Regarding to the shipping sector, here is the Baltic Dry Index (BDI)

looks very hot due to China's hunger for commodities.
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on ship companies. Its true, the technicals on some of these ship companies are very strong. EXM and DSX are definitely some of today's top performers.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for the link for the BDI. China's hunger for commodities is insatiable at the moment. With such a large population and a greater reliance on imported goods it makes perfect sense. It is good to take advantage of these situations while they are still available.
