Wild Stock of the Week: CHNR

Sad to say that I missed it. CHNR goes to show you that its wise to buy into strength and ask questions later. Anyway, it would be really difficult for me to recommend it now that it is up another 60%+ today. If you want to play it, play it at your risk. I may grab some if it pulls back. For now, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'm not too crazy about jumping into either of them. Granted, they do show insane price action and if the momentum continues, they may head higher.

Thanks Raj, but I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing it sooner.

I like CATS even more after todays close. The stock maintained itself quite well (and on higher than average volume) despite the general market decline.

Yes, I noticed that the Asian markets have been beaten up. It will be interesting to see how the U.S market handles this decline. As far shorting Chinese stocks, use caution. As you can see, they are very volatile and can whip even the experienced trader in either direction. As far as shorts, check out PTR, ZNH, CEA, SNP, CEO. These are stocks that have put in climax-like tops and have a better shot as being good short candidates. Of course, that doesn't mean that you can't make a decent short on a previous fast mover like CHNR or JRJC. You just have to see how they react in the open. Look to see if there is strength in them. Once you sense some more selling pressure, then you should short. Personally, I'm going to focus more on the higher priced China stocks as shorts. Of course, you are free to do what you want. Just be cautious when shorting. It is not as easy as it may seem. Goodluck.

Yre,

Leave the blackjack and gambling for the casino! Remember, if it feels like a gamble, it probably is a gamble. And if you feel that way about TSTC then you should stay away from it. I checked out TSTC and I am not crazy about it. I feel as though anything that is even remotely China-related has the ability to fly 50% in a day. I'm starting to notice that this has gotten out of hand. I'd rather stick to some safer issues than chase these kinds of speculative stocks. Anyways, if the broad decline in China does not negatively affect the China stocks (thats a big IF), then check out NOEC, KUN, CPSL and possibly CHNR as longs. Their chart patterns appear far stronger than TSTC's. Of course, play at your own risk. Goodluck..
