Stock Picks and Trade Ideas for Wednesday

New Buy Candidates:

New Short Sale Candidates

Add To:

There are no new long or short candidates for today. I will continue to keep an eye on and work with my current list of longs and shorts. For the most part, I have listed some of the best long positions and strongest stocks out there. For a recap, just go through some of my past "Stock Picks and Trade Ideas" posts to see all of the plays. Some of my favorites right now include: AEHR, AXYS, BNK.TO, DSCP, DYAX, GEOI, GENC, GLOB.OB, GNET, GU, HA (as a long), HDSN, IDRA, JRCC, LL, LSR, NOG, OME, PPO, SCL, SKIL, SMS, SUTR, TEC, TECUA, TITN, TNS, VLNC, VSCI, WEL, WSCI, XIDE

Of course not all of the longs performed well. Some like LKQX and QNTA bombed right from the start. Still, the majority that I have picked and selected have outperformed the market by a long shot.

Note: Again, so there is no confusion, I want to reiterate that the above stocks are just some of the top performing stocks that I either recommended, played or listed as potential buy candidates. I do not have a position in all of these above mentioned stocks.

Some of these are short positions and some are long positions. I hope you were able to differentiate that. I just basically mentioned some of the top performing long positions. Sure, not all of my short recommendations have performed as well as I'd have liked, but then again, the market has been trading sideways. Still, who's to argue that ABAX, AOB, MFA, NLY and all the other shorts are still not good shorts? They are still good shorts and will be until they bottom and set up a base.

So lets see, I messed up on ATEC, AUXL, and a few others. That is nothing. Please, if you want to attack my picks, please, take a look at them and differentiate between which ones were long, which were short and stop posting the same stock 3 times. Have a nice day.

Also, you have to understand the strategy that is involved behind cutting ones loses. I usually cut my losses anywhere between 6-10%. Sometimes I get lazy and I use a mental stop and I lose a bit more, but never that much. So, basically, I cut my losses if a trade does not go well, and that goes for longs and shorts. So even I am wrong on a trade, I can't be that wrong if I cut my losses. I take my losses and walk away. If you haven't adopted a selling strategy or a cut loss strategy, I suggest you do because your initial post is amateur at best. But then again, what should I expect? People will always complain and sometimes not be happy with my picks no matter what. I can only post what I think will work. I'm not God, and I cant ever be more than 50% right (No One Is!). What I can do is keep holding and adding to my best stocks and getting rid of my laggards. Obviously, I expect those who follow my picks to do the same. If you don't or can't or are not happy with my blog and what it offers, then stop visiting it and don't ever read it again. If you are someone who would like to follow my experiences in the market and the stocks that I like and play, then read the blog. Its as simple as that. I'm not working on this blog to make money. There are no advertizments. I am doing this out of the enjoyment. The enjoyment that I experience in the equity markets. The joy of discovering a good stock with good potential. The joy of making a mistake and living with it. Some bloggers delete posts and change them when they realize they're wrong (the Street.com is one example). I have never done this and never will. What you see is what you get. I am not working on this blog to have the number one blog. I may never get to that point and I don't care. I am doing this for the love of the game. The equity market game.

You have to understand that a lot of the stocks that are posted are just candidates and not recommendation to buy and not actual stocks that I have really put in a position in. I always post and declare when I actually take a position in a stock (long or short). One needs to understand that this should site should be viewed as entertainment (for entertainment purposes only). I just don't understand why you feel the need to attack me. You are acting as if just because I didn't mention the trades that aren't doing so well as if I am hiding them. They are all still on my blog. I never covered up anythiug. If you want, do a search on the search blog and you will see every trace of every stock you mentioned.

My words are not part of an attack
they are a simple question as in
" Did you keep them? "

Now I know I'll have to find them myself.

Thank you for what you are doing Mr. Nick.

Jolly-Roger,

I apologize for the misunderstanding as I have misunderstood the first line of your first post. I thought you were being sarcastic. All of those trades that you have listed are on the blog. If you need to find the orginal listing or post for a particular stock, just type in the symbol on the search bar of the blog and it should bring you to a page that lists the post/s in which the stock symbol was mentioned in. For instance, if you type in ABAX, it will bring you to a page where all the posts have a mention of ABAX. Hope this helps. Again, I apologize if I have offended you.

-Nick

Jolly- Roger,

One more thing...please, don't address me as Mr. Nick. Nick is just fine. I am not your superior. Thanks.
