Trends to Watch

Keep an eye on Machinery and Equipment manufacturers and distributors

Watch: ACAT, MNTX, TITN, TSCO, TWIN, WGO

Other Hot Stocks: AREX, BSET, CCME, CLFD, DBLE, DEST, DSCI, EEE, GLUU, GNTX, GSL, IBIO, KLIC, MDW, MGIC, NFLX, OCCF, QPSA, SANW, UFPT, UTA, UTEK, VRS, ZLCS

LT Trade: BAGL, CIS, NVDA, REDF

Overall Note: Market still has legs. Positive earnings on MSFT and many other stocks in various sectors is giving the market more fuel to burn. On a psychological note, many investors and traders have been burnt from the bear market of 2008 and are quick to judge this rally as being over. This shows that the top has not been put in place.

Chugging Along

New Trades: HUGH (in at 60.81), IPCI (in at 5.27), VRUS (in at 48.35)

HUGH was selected based on the recent strength and speculation of the company being up for sale which may lead to a premium to the current price.

IPCI was selected do to the stock being a top performer. Entry was selected based on the pivot created after a brief intra-day dip. The pivot shows that there are buyers stepping in to offer support at current prices.

Watching: ISYS, ORBK

Market Looking Overbought

The market is starting to look a bit toppy and overbought. This is further confirmed by all missteps among the better performing stocks. Is this an early warning sign of worse to come or a slight pause before a higher move on the general markets. Stay tuned!

Possible Shorts: AIG, ISLE, LPHI, MNKD, NTCT, RAX, ULTR, VOL

Not much action

The only possible trades that I could find are BLTI, HILL and SANW

Bio-Tech's and Speculative MicroCaps

The speculative and bio-tech/pharma stocks seem to be the stocks du jour, as they continue to make higher moves. One bio-pharma that I had highlighted several sessions ago (IPCI) has been performing quite well. Alas, I had been reluctant in taking a position and decided not too chase it. Instead, I sat on the sidelines and watched it soar since last week. Another strong bio-tech (GENE) has also been making new highs with an impressive 90%+ move today. This also popped on my radar but the low trading volume deterred me from taking a position. One positive hopeful for today is AERL. I have been patiently watching it believe that it is almost ready to be bought as a trade.

Potential Trades: AERL, FRM

Note: In order for AERL to be a go, it must stay near the top of its range.

More Strength?

I am surprsied as to how much strength the market has been exhibiting. Even though the VIX is at a reflex level (ready to rebound*), the DJIA continues to push slightly higher. In addition, the same tiny, speculative issues that appeared on my radar during the past trading sessions continue to march ahead (IBIO, KUN, etc.) While I will be away from the desk for most of the morning, I will return before the close to give an update as to any new trades.

*and it did rebound

No new trades for the day.

Back at the Desk

I'm back......Although it has only been a week, I feel as if I missed out on a lot. For starters, SHZ made a new high, but has since come back down. I feel as if it still has more room to run, but it will consolidate for a bit before making a new high. REE has been holding up well. I believe REE has more room and can easily double from this point just on speculation alone.
