The Indices are perking up....

Hey ladies and gents,

I started noticing some strength in the S&P, Russell, and NASDAQ futures. This could very well signal the bottom of the drop in the markets. With September just around the corner, we can expect more money flowing into the markets at the end of the summer vacation. A large amount of my watchlist candidates and holdings have been glowing green in the past 2 weeks, so things seem to be perking up a bit.

Todays winners seem to be: NUHC, TTEC, HRT, ARSD, HLEX, WGA (new potential long), MU, ISBC, MEH, BPO, BEAS, BEBE, AMAG, ABMD, KAI, ICI

Positive Futures winners include: Lumber, Gold, Corn, Cattle, Hogs, Soybeans, Nat Gas, and Wheat. I am still short Gold, so I got hit a little today, but my Copper short is working just fine. I am also being hit a little by my Lean Hogs short as well. Regardless, I am doing just fine on the futures side as well.

K.I.M. (Keep It Moving)...

Hey guys,

I have to say, today's price action is very surprising and impressive as well. As far as my Futures activity, I covered my short of the EuroDollar for an impressive gain. I covered my short positions on the British Pound and Euro FX for a slight loss. I am Long Cattle and shorted Lean Hogs. So far so good. With stocks, my biggest gains are coming from TAG, CTCM, and BRKR at the moment. OCN is my worst performing stock since it was hit with a down grade

Stocks to keep an eye on: SNX, BMRN, VIP, ALSK, TTEC, NUHC, TAM, OMCL, WNS, and VOLC.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve this blog, let me know! Good luck trading, and have a great day!

End of the Month Slump

Hey guys,

As we enter the end of August, we have to stop and contemplate. We have to ask ourselves, where do we see ourselves going from here? Two scenarios may play out. Investors return from their vacations and start pouring their money back into the financial markets, or the market may not be ready for a come back and we trade sideways for the next few weeks or months. Although we have no power or say in this, it is a good thing to keep in mind given the erratic market conditions that we have experienced in the last few months. I myself, am "long and strong" as they say. With less than 20% of investors as bulls, it is easy to see that the overwhelming amount of bears could be signaling a short-lived bear cycle and confirmation that this "mini" rally may continue and become something bigger in the next few weeks and months ahead. Still, this market is lacking real leader and most importantly, volume. Without these key ingredients we are going nowhere. Still, nothing can shake my optimism. The last few weeks have been not been so bad. I have found plenty of short term winners, especially in the penny stock realm. Although I have always stated that I dislike pennies and OTC stocks, I still can't pass up a great opportunity when I see one, especially since the overall markets have been lacking in high-return opportunities.

Yeaaaaaaah, baby!

Hey folks, whats going on??

Its the end of the month and time for me to cash out b4 school starts.

I sold the rest of my BFUN, NUHC, DPII positions for very nice gains.
Still holding onto my CTCM, ARSD, TAG, TMX, LMNX, ALSK, TTEC, OGTX, VOLC, GHDX, OMCL, OCN, BRKR

Continue to keep an eye on: OMCL, ALY, TAG, PVH, BEBE, TAM, HTC, SJR, GHDX, MFA, AMX, SBS.

I will be back later to add some more potential longs.........
Basically keep an eye on all the longs I mentioned in the last 2 postings. Most of them are sound and ready for lift off. Also check out APLX, CLUB (previously mentioned), LAYN (PM), TRAC (PM), SWHC, BDG. SPEC, PEP, HBG, BOOM, PMTR (again!), ATML, TYL (PM), SFL, RTK, AEZ DGXetc.

Also keep an eye on foreign telecom stocks such as BT, VIP, PT, TEO, FTE, TAR, and TCPIX (profunds)

More of the Same...

Hey folks, I gotta say, I am not very impressed with the market action the last few days. The market action has made me resort to less conventional stock picks, speculative buys and OTC stocks. So far, so good.

One of my fav stocks right now is TTEC. I also cashed in my whole position in TAR, most of my position in BFUN and ITKG. I am breakeven with CPNE and I am up nicely on ARSD. So far, TAG has given me close to a 40% return. Not too shabby. I sold NVEC for a slight loss, as well as TAM and JLHY.

Pennies to keep an eye on
PMDX, EMED, DPII, OGTX, AAGH, WWCD, ECFL, QEGY.

Also keep an eye on: BAS, HIMX, FUEL, SSTR, TX, AAPL, HOKU, TMX

On the Radar and In the Portfolio.....

Here are the hot stocks of the moment. Read 'em, chart 'em and if market conditions appear favorable, buy 'em!

OPY, CTCM, SNX, WNS, HWCC, NSMG, TTEC, ALSK, NUHC, NVEC, LMNX, LNDC, TYL, IAAC, ILMN?, CEO, PTR, NEU, GHDX, FRG, DK, BEBE, LWAY, VTIV, DOCC, CITP, CVC, CVA, FLSH, SHU, PSA, TAR (good time to trim some off a bit!), BT?, AZN?, RKT, BW, ISPH?, AEC, OCN, ISSX, ACTI?, BORL?, CMI, VOLV, PCAR, WEBX?, CPA, OMG, TRAC?, KGC, MFN, EGLE?, FRO, SKT, CPC, IFOX, ETP, UIC, PWEI, VECO, BNS, AYR?, EVR?, CBS, ENDP?, OFLX, BTE, CXW, INFY?, MIGP?, WW, EPR, LXU?, FMS?, HUM, PCCC, GRC, KVHI, BPHX, NTST?, BAM, IWOV, RBN?, APH, MAT, CLHB, CHL, LFC?, SNH, WRE, RPT, NITE, TRAC, PR, MA, INOC, NYRR, BFUN, EZM, CLUB?, VOLC, AZMN, ITKG, PGWC (take advantage of the shortsqueeze), ARSD, TWI, THOR?, TDY, QSC, POS, ORB, GISX?, SPWR, ZONS, WLV

8/24/06 -8/25/06 I have to say, I am not very impressed by the markets "leading stocks". I hate shorting! I'd rather just go long a few keepers and reap the rewards. But this crappy market has made me resort to boring CD's, money market funds, penny stocks and obscure stocks. My best stocks so far are CTCM, BFUN, ITKG, TAR, CPNE, GHDX, NVEC

Add-ons to the List: WTSLA, GEX, AEZ, BTJ, VLG?, CGX, ICOC, ACTC (lol, just keep an eye on it for now), PX, LAYN, HOLX?, WPZ, CPO, SNA, RNO, VGZ, IAG, FRX?, NOVN, PEP?, PR, TMX, WSTG, AVCT, THOR, AMED, ARTC, OSG, WSTG, GEL, MDTH, SVNT, WPZ, MWP, BMRN, SSTR, VRTA, UDR, ATML, MA?

8/12/06
My top sells: BFUN, and TAR. MY top return holdings: TAG, ARSD. The holding that I-almost-bought-but-I-didnt-and-now-I regret-not-buying in time is, EMED (up 25% today alone).

Another nice OTC to check out is PMDX

Sifting Through the Stocks.....

...to find the next winners. That's what it's all about folks!

I am going to add a few more hot stocks to the mix.

TTEC, OFLX, HMSY, AZPN, DOCC, VOCS, PME, APN, CITP?, MENT, SBS, LUM, NFS, UTK, CVC, RY, SUNH?, FLSH?, SHU, PSA, BAP, TAR, BT, RKT, MAXC, BW, ISPH, AEC, NUHC, ISSX, ACTI, BORL, CMI, VOLV, PCAR, WEBX, CPA, NVEC

Yes I know, a couple of them have been previously mentioned. These are the ones that I believe will appreciate in price the most in the upcoming weeks.

Of course, continue to keep an eye on CTCM, CAPA, CKSW, TAM, ALSK, OMCL, OMRI and a few other previously mentioned stocks.

CTC Media Inc (CTCM - NASDAQ) 3 month chart

Accumulation is high, despite the slight pullback. I like this stock and I think that it can continue its run up (think CETV).

Tam SA (TAM - NYSE) 3 month chart

With falling oil prices, foreign airliner TAM looks ready to take off to new heights- literally!

8/18/06 - 8/20/06

What a week! Insane I tell you! Also how about that NVEC? I still haven't formed a position as I am looking for a pull back to jump in. I might take a small piece on Monday and build upon it if it dips. Regardless of what YOU do, do keep an eye on it because it has all the characteristics of a monster mover (think HANS, NTRI, TZOO, etc).

Some other stocks to keep on the radar include: WSDT, GMTC, CHL, CRDN (double bottom), NVEC (of course), TWI (good for long term trade), NUHC (hot!), HWCC (keep an eye on it), WNS (nice, but needs more volume..wait until earnings), ISSX (nice), BORL? (anyday now), HMSY, TTEC (huge accumulation and its breaking out of a double bottom-like chart pattern), PME (ready to set new highs), BW (nice), TRMB, GHDX, LNDC, TRMB, DIOD, TNL, PHLY, BBV, AZN, BT, GLB, TYL, NEU, MENT, CTSH, WPPGY, NGAS, FRO, OPY, CLUB, VOLC, ALY?, EZM. RHA, INOC, TRAC, TDY

Hot OTC.BB Stocks
NYRR, CPNE, AZMN, JLHY, CRWS, BFUN, CTUM, CSHD

TeleTech Holdings Inc (TTEC - NASDAQ) 6 month chart

PreMD Inc (PME- AMEX) 6 month chart

The volume tells the story and believe me, the story is about to become very interesting.

Nu Horizons Electronics Corp (NUHC - NASDAQ) 3 month chart

Absolutely flawless! See you at 20!

Brush Wellman Inc (BW - NYSE)

A break above 27 will seal the deal and confirm the breakout.

Genomic Health Inc (GHDX - NASDAQ) 6 month chart

Gotta love the heavy accumulation as it works on the right side of its base....

Oppenheimer Hldings Inc (OPY - NYSE) 3 month chart

At a P/E of only 13, OPY is a steal at the moment. The only drawback to this stock is that it is thinly traded. Insiders own roughly almost 23%, while insitutions own 35%. You can take a position now and risk a pull back, or wait for a confirmation breakout if it blasts past 30.

Ceradyne Inc (CRDN - NASDAQ) 3 month chart

Looking at the chart, one can see the double bottom chart pattern that CRDN is exhibiting. At this price, CRDN makes a low risk swing trade for the weeks and months ahead. Also note that the stock has been under accumilation.

8/21/06 - 8/22/06

Watch list: BEBE, FRG, HWCC, GHDX, TRMB, NEU, WNS, DK?, FRG, LWAY, VTIV, FUJIY, EME, PSA, (note, check other REIT stocks and also the Profund Ultra REIT Fund) SHU, IAAC

What's Hot and What's Not

Hey folks,

Today I sold my entire position of DLP following the news of the aquisition by Monsato (MON). I made a 21% return so I can't complain. Still, I was hoping to see a higher return had MON not acquired the company...

In addition, keep the same longs on radar. Also keep a watchful eye on ALSK, LMNX (both previously mentioned), OMRI, PCAR, PPDI, MIG, AZN, SNX

Roller Coaster Action.....

Who needs Six Flags when the market dishes out more excitment?!

It's crazy I tell ya! If one is to survive this market, one needs to be patient, keep a heavy stash in cash (great CD and money market rates) and recognize that this is a stock picker's trading enviornment that is characterized by short-term hold rates. Basically in and out action...think "stick and move"! Yeah I know what I am describing sounds like something else, but the same principles apply. Do your thing and get out! Lol.

Anyways, some of current winners include CTCM and MA. I am also initiating a buy rating on WNS (new IPO) based on the chart and strong accumulation. Reminds me of CTCM several weeks ago. Don't miss out on it! Some other hot stocks on my screen include: AEZ, CAPA and DK and possibly RAH. On the short side, besides ODP, short ARII, CAT, RMK, CFC and VOL. Keep TEX on the radar for a possible short.

Interestingly enough, tonight I recieved a soliciting email from Gorilla Trades, which highlighted some stock recommendations. Since its interesting and free advice, I plan on sharing it with you.

Gorilla Trades initiates a buy rec on Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ) which closed at 55.93 today. The gorilla recommends buying CNQ above 56.50 with a confirmation volume of at least 1.5 million ( it had 2.3 mill today). First target is 61.75 and the 2nd target is 68 with a 51.50 stop loss. Risk rating= 3

The gorilla also recommends shorting Office Depot (ODP) at 37.21 with a 31 target and a 40.50 buy-stop. Confirmation vol = 3 mill and the risk rating is 4. I like this trade the most.

What can we expect?

Folks, I gotta say, the trading tape has been rough the last couple of months. And the truth is, it can get much worse. Take into account that our Vice President, Dick Cheney has parked his multi-millions overseas in European Bond (to take advantage of the rising European currencies). I hate politics, trust me...but when I see that one of the top officials that is running our country is starting to bet against the dollar...it can only mean far more trouble ahead. Today, the previous winners (the beverages) took a hit. Hans, FiZ, JSDA, all of them are crap now and should only be regarded as shorts. The best way to play this market is by strategically shorting the indices and select stocks. Otherwise, you can try and pick some stocks to go long on, but don't stay in any for too long.
Some new stock ideas:
MFA
CKSW
QCC
CRT
RICK
CTCM
GPIC
TTG (add more)
ALJ (add More)
WRLD ( add more)
MA
OMG
RPFG
