Fighting for Stability...

Hey guys...

The markets are crazy I tell you! Thankfully, today was not too bad. Still, doesn't it feel like we are slowly drifting lower? One step forward, two steps backward as they say. Despite this, there are winners hidden beneath the trenches of this all out bull and bear war. A recently showcased pick KLUCQ has gained over 100% in 2 days. I know that pick was a little risky, but the person who said higher risk may bring higher reward, wasn't kidding. I'm just about to go to my evening classes (I know, summer semesters suck....) but I am hoping to leave enough time to discuss todays winners and some possible picks for tommorow and the rest of the week.

Fallen Angels: Stocks that Have Fallen from Grace

Hey guys,

Just wanted to clue you in on some risky company stocks that have the potential to either make you or break you. I am breaking my rule on OTB and penny stocks, but oh well. I believe that these stocks deserve some attention as they are companies that have filed for bankruptcy and are ready emerge from it. Some names are familiar and some are not.

Finding Some Winners in this Oddball Market

Hey folks,

I have a few stocks that I have found to be extremely resilient to the markets fluctuations...

DTV, WWE, NWS/a, CLDA, HAST, FVE, TRMB, BRVO, OPY

Proving the Shorts Wrong...

Those that hoped for only a dead cat bounce and more downward movment were proven wrong as institutions and investors displayed confidence in the markets by snapping up shares of market leading stocks. Some new names making waves include COGO, and LQDT. Previously mentioned hot stocks such as CTV, DAKT, and SPSX continue to impress traders and investors alike.

Also check out MBRX (could be done basing), AOB, IDGR

On the Radar Screen

Hey folks,

Got a couple of stocks for you to keep an eye on and possibly buy. Take a look at STRL (old favorite) and LQDT.

One for the Bulls.....

Hey guys,

What a day! Despite the insane market action, the indices were able to bounce off support and pull the stocks along with them. This may or may not have been a surprise if you have been following the Oversold Charts. The markets have not been this oversold for quite a while. And just like magic, once the bottom was hit, it bounced straight up.

Without a doubt, one of todays better performing stocks was the NASDAQ's current hot stock, Daktronics Inc (DAKT). I was able to add a little more to my position in the low 44 range. Those who added at 43 were even more rewarded. I am looking for the stock to surge above its 52wk high on high volume before adding more to my position.

Those that Held, Made out Well....

Hey guys,

What a day, right?! The indices were all over the place, leaving the average trader ready to bring up this mornings breakfast. The market rewarded those who were patient with a decent close that may signal the bottom of the correction. Nothing is for certain but today was a good time to buy into some clear winners.

DAKT proved itself today with an awe inspiring HOD finish of 44.36 (+ 9.53%)! Nice! Oh and did I mention that not only did it close near the HOD but also with the biggest volume day all year? Thats right, institutions snapped up some shares and helped it along as well. My advice is, if you haven't bought in yet, what are you waiting for??!!

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize (5.23.06)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to fill you in on some stocks that I have been watching. First off, note that Daktronic Inc (DAKT) will be reporting earnings tommorow. I believe that they will go far and beyond the analysts estimates. Another stock to keep an eye on is Williams Scotsman Intl (WLSC). The maker of mobile space solution will most likely benefit from the upcoming hurricane season. Keep an eye on both of these stocks for the upcoming days and weeks to come.

2nd Day of Options Expiration...

Hey every1

Today is the 2nd day of Options expiration and its quite a doozy. Todays tug o' war between the bulls and bears is leaving the indices all over the place. Down, up, left, right and its taking all the stocks along with it for ride. My call of MORN was crushed as the stock dipped today. Still some favorites like BWS and CTV seem to be holding along well and are ready for action. BWS is releasing earnings on the 25th (May) and CTV has announced that management has upped 2nd quarter guidance. Lets just hope this move doesn't explode in their face in a couple of weeks.

In other news, I got a 3.7 for the Spring Semester and I finally put my '95 Camaro Z28 back on the road! Life is good!

Bottoms Up

Hey folks,

Looking for a top stock that has been beaten up and is finally ready for a comeback? Well then, check out AMD. AMD has been enjoying the steady support of computer maker HPQ and now has DELL ready to get on board and use its processors. This of course spells more trouble for INTC. On the flip side, it could mean that AMD has bottomed out and is a good buy at current levels. Keep an eye on it for tommorow as the stock may open up a few points....

Another Day, Another Ugly Close

Hey guys and gals,

It is hard to believe that after a tough struggle to stabalize itself, the DJA slid down over 70 points, minutes before the close. I don't know about you, but I am starting to get bored of the same ol' routine. I have sold a lot of my stocks and I am almost 100% cash. I just sold some GYMB but I am still holding my MORN. I will try to do some research after my doc appointment. Hopefully I can find some more market-resiliant stocks for next week. Later....

K.I.M. (Keep it Moving)

Hey folks,

Just wanted to post some new stock picks that look attractive despite the negative market action. I believe these stocks will appreciate in price in the near term future.

Pegasus Wireless (PGWC) This one was previously mentioned some time ago when it was in the single digits. It continues to be accumulated and remains a top performer.

Woodhead Industries (WDHD) Funny name, hot stock action..

HearUsa Inc (EAR) Strong technicals and accumulation...

Credit Acceptance Corp (CACC) breakout coming soon....

Industrial Distribution Group (IDGR)

Morningstar Inc (MORN) I added a small position in this..so far so good.

MDC Partners (MDCA)

Pepsi Co Inc (PEP) This is a good replacement for PBG

A Down Day? What Else is New?

Hey guys,

I'm not here to talk about the market. Yeah I know it sucks, all the stocks are down, yada, yada... inflation fears and more B.S from Bernanke...blah blah blah. Yes I know all about that too. Trust me. So why does it seem like I could care less? Because I know that there is money to be made whether its a up day or a down day. Look, the most versatile traders can be without a doubt, compared to a chameleon lizard. Methodical...calculating...patient...and ever adapting. You gotta follow the charts. If you are short term or just trading-then get the hell out of a position once it pierces the 20 day MA. If your outlook is more longterm, then look for support at the 50 day. Always keep an eye on stocks that look to rebound (volume and institutional buying/and news is key). You gotta keep your wits about you..and pack some nerves of steel. Most important of all, don't panic. Be patient. Look, I know I am making it sound easy, and its one thing to say it now and another (whole other) thing while the DOW is plunging down over 200 points. Still, you have to keep things in perspective...Be cool, fool.

P.S. Looking for stocks that have made 52 wk highs is a good idea on days such as this. BUT, you should avoid buying the stocks that made 52 wk highs and closed at the low of the day or in the negative. This indicates people (or institutions) selling their shares at the run up.

Hot Stock Watch...

Hey folks,

In this post I will highlight various stocks in different industries that I believe are great potential buys in the upcoming days and weeks. Now many of them are strong stocks, as they have been exhibiting tremendous strength during the last few days (which by the way, were horrible).

Segmentz Inc (SZI) 1.06

G Willi Food Intl (WILC) 7.04

Perficient Inc (PRFT) 12.50

Not Again!......

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, we recieve another disaster dip. I don't know about you, but unless your porfolio is "Bernanke-Proof", you had to have felt the negative impact if you haven't exited all of your positions days ago. My few stocks that closed positive are GMTC, JOBS and OVTI. The rest took another dip. Just a few more days and I will be able to put my head into total stock market gear.I just hope that market doesn't take a turn for the worst by then....

A Lesson to be Learned...

Hey folks,

Just a few days ago, my portfolio was sitting pretty. Well at least far more prettier than today to say the least. The point is, I feel like I should've taken profits days ago. Instead, I kept holding on, believing that the gains would hold, if not accumulate even more. Now I realize how much of a dumb move it was. Oh well. It is what it is. The good news is that I will be finishing my semester in a few days. This means more time to devote to trading and rebuilding my porfolio. It also means more time devoted to finding hot stocks and industries to share. So sit tight and try to look at the market in a differet perspective. I am sure you have read and heard talks about the market reaching a top or resistance. This may be true as markets are really cyclical. This means that they generally take turns rallying up and down. Bull and Bear. Despite this fear, do not despair (no rhyme intended). There is money to be made either way. You just have to have the patience, and confidence to take advantage of the opportunity at the right moment. Are YOU ready?

Keep an Eye on Positive Movement...

Despite the crappy action, we must focus on stocks that are performing positively. Some ideas are

GFIG
BTU
CNX
ARTW
SMTX
OWENQ
BUCY
RAIL
RBA

The New Hot Stocks on the Radar...

Hey folks,

As promised...check out DAKT, TTMI, ORBK, TTEC, TTEK, WEBM, and keep a watchful eye on DECC, TWI and VHI (all previously mentioned picks).

Learning from ones Mistakes...

Hey folks,

Despite a modest amount of great calls, I do occasionally become wrapped in a stock pick. Color Kinetics (CLRK) is one of them. The funny thing is, we never realize how crappy the stock was since the begining until AFTER we get our a$$ handed back to us. Looking at the chart, I begin to see an ugly and inconsistant chart pattern that should've been obvious from the start. Also, the stock had run up before earnings. This is usually a hype thing, rather than a logical behavior. Most stocks actually experience a little sell off before earnings a released. A positive move such as that shows over confidence in a stock and this is not always a good thing. If everyone is long and everyone has high expectations in the stock, then what happens when, God forbid, it falters by just a cent? There you have it. Also the chart pattern was a double top formation. Besides the high expectations, thats about it. Still, its more than a handful of good reasons why I shouldn't have bought the stock. Too bad I couldn't see all those reasons before I put my hard earned money and good faith in CLRK. Never again. I plan on learning from this mistake the best way I can. I used to just simply use insider buys and technicals and chart patterns to pick stocks. This definatly works, but it misses out on other important key factors, such as earnings growth. I thought CLRK would have earnins growth, but those other factors should have deterred me from buying. I should've waited AFTER earnings were released and then made a decision. Anyways, a new strategy is to focus on stocks showing tremendous earnings growth, after the fact that they showed the actual growth (beat the numbers). I will post some stocks in the next post. Later...

SPSX is Burning up the Charts..

Hey folks,

SPSX, a stock I have mentioned the other day as an earnings play is burning up the charts this afternoon in a big way. The stock has gapped up 15% and is showing tremendous strength! Pay attention!

Pick up at the Pivot Point..

Hey folks,

One of the most important techniques that both traders and investors can apply to their portfolio is taking advantage of stock pivot points. This can be very useful whether your position is large or small. So what exactly am I talking about?

Take CTV for instance...
A few days ago, CTV reported stellar earnings which helped catapault the stock to new highs. After hitting its high at 33.72, the stock started to come back down. Once it came down a few points, it began trading sideways for a few days. Notice the stock did not sink or bomb out. Instead it maintained a bullish chart pattern as it consolidated for a little. In today's action, we can see that volume has picked up and more buyers have stepped in. This has helped raise not only the stocks share price, but also its technical rating. The current chart pattern shows a "pivot point" or a joint in the chart pattern where the stock has "bottomed out" from its consolidation and is ready for more upward movement. This is usually a good time to add more to your current position or if you are new to the stock, start a position.

Some stocks that are showing a pivot point are:
CTV
HITT
TZOO
TNL
MGI

Earnings Play: CLRK

Hey folks,

I got another earnings play for anyone interested. Color Kinetics (CLRK) has been experiencing a surge above average volume. The price has followed suit as well, posting as high as 22.58 (roughly a 5% increase over yesterdays close). I picked some up myself (around 22.33). Just so you know, CLRK's is reporting on May 4th. Keep an eye on it.

Earnings Play: SPSX

Hey guys,

I know that playing earnings is a gamble, but I believe that SPSX is worth the risk. SPSX is a high growth stocks (25% earnings increase each quarter) that is in the cable/wire business. Lately, this industry has been on fire..Think: APH, CTV, BGC, WIRE, etc...
It reports after market close 5/3 . I'd say take a look at it. If you like, you know what to do...

Trying to keep an eye on too many things....

Hey guys,

If there is one thing that is for certain, if you are a trader, you MUST have the time to keep up with everyone of your stocks. Otherwise, you are bound to lose your head - like me! My BWEB call turned dangerously foul today, as I exited most of my position with a nasty loss. I know it sucks, but thats how it is. Goes to show you that no matter how good the stock or the chart looks, anything can happen! Had I not been so busy with school, I would have had more time to research it and probably would have sold sooner. Oh well, its all good! I also picked up some VWPT a few days ago, at around 1.50. Fast forward to today at 1.87 and I can't complain! You still have time if you want to jump in VWPT. My target for this one is 2.30-2.50.

Some stocks to purchase for the next few days:

DECC
TWI
INTN
CRNT
TNL
HELX
MRY
PGWC
FRNS
